Plugins in Wingpanel missing translations

Asked by ProsjektX

using Freya beta 1, installed in my language on a physical computer yesterday and did an upgrade after install. Noticed that all elements in the Wingpanel are in English while the rest of the system is in Norwegian. Tried reapplying language settings but no difference. Did a apt-get upgrade today on a virtual machine as well that has been running freya for a few days, but everything still works there. Any idea how to fix this issue?

Ok, I did now try other languages and they seem to work, e.g. German or Danish etc. So it must be something fishy with the "norwegian bokmål" translation I think. So where are translations for the power, volume, network and calendar applet located? Can't seem to find them on Launchpad here

Ok, I'm going nuts over this bug/issue. Now I think I have come down to a difference I see between machines where it works and not. Those that don't work seem to have the GDM_LANG=no and GDMSESSION=pantheon variables set. But where is those actually set...!?

Finally got the idea to a diff of installed packages and versions between systems that work and those that don't. have setup several virtual machines to compare freshly created, non working, with the one that worked.

It seems "language-pack-gnome-nb" and "language-pack-nb" (Norwegian bokmål language) for some reason are not installed on the non-working systems. Doing a manual install of these bring translations into non-working systems. Now why the language switcher in system settings are not setting up my language correctly is another issue..
