re-show the launcher icon

Asked by John Gratton

Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu NBR (Karmic), I've accidentally clicked the "do not show" on the right click menu for the launcher icon. I would like to have it back if someone knows how to turn it back on.
Thanks,
John

Panel applets are easily returned:
Right click an empty part of the panel (This can sometimes be tricky: occasionally parts that look empty are actually an applet's reserved space)
In the popup menu, click Add to Panel...
Click on the applet you want to restore
Click Add

You may need to adjust the positioning along the panel. For some this is a matter of click-dragging its handle (indicated by three faint lines at the left), while for others you need to right-click, select Move (on the same menu as Remove from Panel, not the one on the same menu as Maximize, Minimize, etc.), and then move the mouse/trackpad sideways.

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to since the question mentions both the "Window Picker Applet" as the category, and "the launcher icon" in the title (which I don't consider synonymous) but I can cover the bases.
If you mean the little orange/red/yellow Ubuntu icon that shows the main menu, you need to add the Go Home applet.
If it's the list of open windows you want, then look for Window Picker.

Can you help with this problem?
