Read Fails - Disk Not Large Enough

Asked by Clint

hi all, have not had this problem before but it wont go away now!

i am creating an image from my sd card. i select a location on my laptop which has tons of room. Name the file. then select read and i get this error:

Disk not large enough for the specified image. it should be pulling from the g drive. not that big of a file that its making an image of.

not sure what its tripped up on.

thanks!

I have no idea what could cause that - I've never seen that behavior. How large is the "G drive" (not a file - the drive/stick of which IW is taking the image). How much free space on the "laptop location" where you're writing it? Have you tried reading any other sticks with any success?

Remember - it's imaging the drive, not a file. If you have a 128GB stick in there, it's going to expect 128GB of free space to write it.

hey jeff,

the file is around 3g. not real big. i have over 100g on my drive so should not even blink.

i have not tried other sd cards. i can try that as i have another app i need to backup.

thanks!

Clint - you say the "file" is 3g. What are you backing up from, and what is the size of that (entire) device?

Thanks,
Jeff
