how can I choose a device that has no drive letter assigned?

Asked by accrig

The drop-down box only shows drive letters. If a device doesn't have any vfat or ntfs partitions then windows does not assign a drive letter to it, so it's not selectable in the program.

If writing to the device it's easy, I can just delete the current contents and create a dummy partition to assign a drive letter. But if trying to read from a device to backup the image it might be a bit more complicated.

Is there a way I can workaround this limitation?

At this time, I am not sure. I agree, writing is easy. I will need to do some testing to see what it will take to id the drive on insertion when there is no partition table. Easy enough to reproduce this, fixing may be another mater.
