Error 32 on Win 10 when burning .img to USB drive

Asked by Cynthia

Hi,
I'm running Windows 10 professional (activated and validated). When I try to burn a .img file to my flash drive, I get Error 32 device is in use by another program.

I'm unable to find out what the other program or service is, and am unable to burn my .img.

Is there a known problem, or am I doing something wrong? My .img file is the Banana Pi Android boot drive in .img format taken from the Banana Pi website.

I used to burn .img files without grief in Windows 7. When I right click on the .img file and select burn image, it says I have no image burners on my system and gives me no option to define one.

Windows added a feature where it will try to open a device as soon as it sees a recognizable partition table on it. This has been an issue with WIndows 8, and made worse by Windows 10. We need to add functionality to the program to temporarily disable this during write operations, which will require a little research on how to do it.

The larger issue is that we (the development team) do not have any spare time for development at the moment, nor do we have all of the currently supported releases of Windows readily available for testing. There is a lot of work that needs to be done for our 1.0 release, but just no spare time or resources to focus on it at this moment.

Error code generally occurs when the start type for the hardware device's driver is disabled in the registry. you can fix this bug by following some steps like roll back the driver, Delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values, Reinstall the drivers for the device, or replace the hardware. you can visit https://hpetechnicalsupportnumber.com/blog/how-to-fix-hp-error-code-0xc0000225/ to fix this bug also.
