Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.

Asked by Barrie Avis

I downloaded Win32DiskImager (I am using Win7), unzipped it and double clicked on the .exe file to start it. OK so far.

I want to back up my Raspberry Pi NOOBS SD Card into a file on my laptop.

Put my the NOOBS SD Card into the SD card slot of the laptop (it appears as Drive G:).

Created a folder into which to copy the files from the SD Card. The path to that folder is D:\Barrie\Documents\Raspberry Pi\NOOBS SD Card Image\ so copied and pasted that path into the Image File Line of Win32DiskImager ... and then clicked on "Read".

In answer to "Are you sure you want to overwrite the specified file?" clicked on "Yes".

Then got "File Error: An error occurred when attempting to get a handle on the file. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."

What I am doing wrong please?

You need an actual file name as a target, not just a directory name. Looks like we need to add a check that the given name is an actual file (if it already exists).

Hope this helps...

I've generated a bug report for this, and should be able to get a fix into the code base this weekend.

Can you help with this problem?
