accidental write target recovery

I accidentally wrote to an external USB hard drive an lost all its data. Do you of any way to recover? I tries recuva but no dice.

Sorry, no. Once the program starts, the target device (or file if doing a Read) is changed. The program works by reading/writing raw data from start to finish. Hitting cancel just interrupts the process at the current binary pointer. Anything prior to that location is now overwritten.
