Questions about image installations

Asked by Gabriel Felipe dos Anjos

I'd like to take a question about the installation of Chrome OS. I would know if when I put the OS on my external HD it will remove all content that is already within the HD or decrease the size of capacity.

Win32Image Writer will overwrite the contents of the drive with the image selected, so essentially yes, within limits.

For example, if you have a 1G image (or even any type of raw data), and you write it to a 4G device, that device will now show only the partitions contained in the raw image. It will not resize the filesystem to take advantage of unused space. There are other tools available to recover the device once you have used it for this. Some images (namely Ubuntu preinstalled images for arm systems and Cyanogen mod Android images) will detect the full capacity of the device on first boot and resize the filesystems accordingly before giving you control of the system.

Can you help with this problem?
