I had the same problem but it seemed to work when I downloaded the binary version as this gives you an .exe file when you expand it

There should be an exe that you double-click to start (Win32DiskImager.exe). Once that's running, you can:
    A) select an image file and a device to write it to
or B) Select a device to read and a filename to save the resulting img as

In either case, the device must be connected and recognized.

Thank Sam and Jeff Bs, using the binary version i got the exe file but now i have the error message telling me that a ddl is missing! It's libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll. I've tried to open this as it is the win32diskimager folder but nothing happens. Can you help me with this?

What version of windows are you using? Windows *should* find an yDLL that
is in the same directory as the executable - you're running the exe from
the directory that contains the DLLs, right?

the dll is in the win32 directory? Did you try running ImageWriter with the dll in the same directory?
