Can some compile a commandline version?

Asked by Randy

I am not a C++ programmer but I do like the program. I wish I could call this image writer from my .net app or in a batch script.

Can someone do this? I am guessing it should not be too hard.

Please let me know if someone will have done this.

Thanks!

I looked into having a console version "option" (via command line parameters), but it's far from trivial. Since it has to be linked as a GUI program (for the gui option), windows returns control to the shell as soon as the program is executed, but before it completes. There are ways around this, but they're all ugly.

Another option is to have 2 versions of image writer - not really looking to do that either.

Essentially, if you want to script it, there are alternatives - DD for windows, rawrite, and probably others.

For now, I don't think a console version of ImageWriter is in the near future. Of course, I'm just speaking for me. Tobin may have a different idea.

At any rate, a user (Hans) had provided a version stripped of the GUI. I can provide a link to his zip file if you provide a email address. I don't know what version it is, and I make no claims/warranties about it, other than that he told me that it was a version of ImageWriter that was stripped of the GUI. Downloader beware. :-)

Can you help with this problem?
