I'm sorry but I need libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll before this "exe" will work.. question mark?

Asked by Ben Story

This application has failed to start because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. (It's not supposed to be installed, just run like it is)
I switched over to Windows Vista because Ubuntu 10.04 "dd" command was not working... 1.9GB should be written onto my flash drive within 15 minutes... as it were I got out of the shower to discover it still not completed. Cancelling this operation caused my computer to slow down considerable (probably the hard disk). I want to know either A. how to get this mysterious "libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll" problem solved or B. How to write a file to my USB in this "live USB" format without "dd" failing miserably. But since this is about Image Writer for Windows, I guess we should talk about Windows, not Ubuntu.
I'm trying to get Chromium OS onto my flash drive so I can boot it.
Thanks everyone in advance!

Same problem here. Located libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll at www.down-dll.com; installed it in same directory as Win32 Disk Imager.exe was located. Got same error message as described, except missing DLL was now libstdc++-6.dll, so it looks like there are multiple missing components in the build. Release 0.5 was in response to question 912259. Cheers!

I think Tobin fixed this (according to the release announcement).

Jeff -

I just downloaded the newer version 0.5, and the executable now opens
like it should, so the problem reported in #187903 is fixed. It wasn't clear
to me from the release announcement that that issue was resolved (Tobin must
be a man of few words!) but it does open like it should, and I noticed that
the 2 missing DLL's were now included in the .ZIP distribution file. I'll
test shortly and see if I can create an image from an SD card, then write
that image to to an exact duplicate of the source SD card - if so, then
you'll be able to close my incident report as well. Many thanks for the
heads-up!
