legacy Widelands files

Asked by Arty

io/filesystem/zip_filesystem.h mentions certain legacy Widelands files:
// All files in our zipfile start with this prefix. We remember this to deal
// with legacy Widelands files that used to keep files in sub directories
// that had the same name than the containing zip file.

Are those files still a relevant thing?

Just wondering because when an early attempt of my temp file solution for saves failed, it took me a few hours to realize that the (rather bad) way the zip filesystem tries to handle those legacy files was what messed things up.

I don't know - it might still affect old map files. You could download the oldest maps that you can find from the homepage and have a look at them.
