translation

Asked by LAZA

As i go through the german translation i got some problems with continouity:

- old or new german orthography (alte oder neue Rechtschreibung)?
- personell or informell writting? (Du/Sie oder du/sie)?

Both is at this time used and i want a uniformity in it...

I agree that uniformity would be nice. I suggest discussing this in the widelands.org forum.

I personally prefer new orthography and "Du" when the player is addressed directly (as in the tutorial).

Jepp, I completely agree with SirVer.

Perhaps we should add information about it to our translation dictionary page : http://wl.widelands.org/wiki/TranslationDictionaryGerman/

Btw. @SirVer: is it possible to add a link to the translation dictionary to the translation section here on launchpad, so translators get aware of their existance ?

Nasenbaer: It should be possible to add a notice to the translations, as I know Ubuntu does it. However, from what I can see[1] it would require setting up a team for translators in order to be able to add them. Which I think is rather unfortunate, as I like the current status where anyone can come along and start contributing without.

I just skimmed the launchpad site and did not find a way to add a welcome or doc link anywhere. If someone finds this option, I would be enlighten to be informed.
