install WICD, remove NETWORKMANAGER

I am working with Manjaro, Xfce 16.06 and would like to use WICD instead of the NW that comes with it. They have changed their forum and the full instructions have been lost in the move. I know how to download WICD but starting it in Terminal and stopping NM is what I need. I think you could help me easier than they can. Thanks in advance.
