Is this a error and related to Bug #1132529?

Asked by Rad Min

I like wicd and recently I have updated to openSUSE 13.1. After doing a clean install and adding the wicd packages (from http://software.opensuse.org/package/wicd; network:utilities 1.7.2.4) I got the error show below. NetworkManager is the preferred program in openSUSE but personally I like wicd more, and this is a wicd related post.

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/wicd/daemon/wicd-daemon.py", line 1849, in <module>
    main(sys.argv)
File "/usr/share/wicd/daemon/wicd-daemon.py", line 1798, in main
print 'unable to chown log file to %s' % group[2]
UnboundLocalError: local variable 'group' referenced before assignment

I have looked at Bug #1132529.the first part of the error seems similar, but the last two lines do not. I'm proficient with Python. Searching the web for solutions has lead to nothing. Any clues and/or suggestions? I' running as root, so permissions should not be a problem.

Thanks.
Rad
