Production of scalar or pseudoscalar state in THDM

Asked by Natasa Vukasinovic

Dear Whizard experts,

I am working on CPV study in the Higgs sector in vector boson fusion process. CPV sensitive observable is angle between production planes (\Phi). I want to reconstruct \Phi for CP even and CP odd states, under the assumption that SM-like Higgs boson is a CPV mixture of scalar and pseudoscalar states, h125=(0+)*cos(alphaCP) + (0-) * sin(alphaCP) .

I run THDM in order to generate separately pure scalar state (Hh, Standard Model Higgs boson) and pseudoscalar state (HA) in process e1, E1 => e1, E1, Hh (e1, E1 => e1, E1, HA) at 1 TeV.

Whizard reported a warning that for the given process matrix element vanishes and integral is zero.
Also, when I set a restriction, e.g. e1, E1 => e1, E1, "b" , "b~" {$restrictions = " 4+5~Hh"} I get error "Fatal error: exception Invalid_argument("Modellib_BSM.TwoHiggsDoublet.flavor_of_string")".

Do I have to change other parameters of the model in order to simulate the process?

Thank you,
Natasa

Dear Natasa,
for historic reasons the restrictions have to be passed verbatim to our matrix element generator, O'Mega, and therefore have to use the naming conventions inside O'Mega, where the heavy scalar boson is called H0 (compared to h0 for the 125 GeV) state. I think you also want the restriction to be
$restrictions = "5+6 ~ H0"
as the Higgs should produce the b-bbar system, right?
A word of caution: the hard-coded 2HDM inside Whizard has never been fully validated. Especially you have to make sure on your own to get a physically sensible combination of masses and coupling constants as input. As a cross-check or also in general you could
use the UFO model for the 2HDM.
Cheers,
    JRR

Dear Juergen,

Thank you for the explanation!

Yes, I want restriction $restrictions = " 5+6~H0". That was a slip.

Is there a repository where I can find UFO model for the 2HDM?

Regards,
Natasa

Dear Natasa,
the 2HDM from FeynRules/UFO is here:
https://feynrules.irmp.ucl.ac.be/wiki/2HDM
This would be the one you are interested in:
https://feynrules.irmp.ucl.ac.be/attachment/wiki/2HDM/2HDM_UFO.tar.gz
Still, you probably have to find a proper benchmark point. Note that the particles might be called differently in that
model. You can find out by just loading that model and then do
show (model)

Dear Juergen,

Thank you for the information about 2HDM.

I'll try to import and run this model. If I get an error that I can't solve, I'll post it here again.

All the best,
Natasa
