Why does the UFO interface fail with "invalid character at `\r'"?

In 2.8.0, this was a stupid oversight to handle files correctly that have DOS/Windos or Mac line endings. It has been fixed in 2.8.1. If you really need to use version 2.8.0, you can use tools like dos2unix to make the UFO lexer happy.
