Can you supply an example? Perhaps use the clippings cart to extract the relevant records?

Are you able to pull clippings yourself? Or do the default settings prevent? If not, I will try to do it soon.

I first discovered it when I searched for my own surname in PGV. Someone else mentioned a similar observation on the forum there.

One of the INDIs affected in both apps is Omer Groleau. I studied the GEDCOM for more than one affected and more than one unaffected, and could not identify anything to explain the difference.

http://UniGen.us/webtrees/search.php?action=general&topsearch=yes&query=omer+groleau

shows four families in which the HUSB is surnamed Groleau, but shows no individuals.

(build 8234)

And when I clicked one of the names, it said "this information is private and cannot be shown"

Which, if true, means it shouldn't have been shown in the search page either, right?

I can't find any examples of this on my own site.

If you can create a mini-gedcom for me that has the problem, it would really help.

E-mail containing some non-public information sent directly to G.R.

The problem is not solved, but there is no other button to click!!!

I've looked again at the example in the URL you posted. You searched for "Omer Groleau".

There is presumably only one INDI record containing both these terms, so only one INDI is shown.

There are 4 families shown, because Omer Groleau (P1251) married twice, and there are two marriages between a Groleau and a P[OMER]oy. Thus the family "name" contains both GROLEAU and OMER.

Duh! I forgot about substrings. But, you saw an INDI ?

I got ONLY the families, This is weird.

And when I search for "groleau" I get Omer and a few others in the families list but not in the individuals list.

Could it have been fixed by the snapshot I recently installed....

AHA! If I am not logged in, topsearch works as expected. If I am an admin, some records (not all) are suppressed from the indi list.

Could that be a side-effect of a configuration option?

Again, I see this launchpad bug where the only button says "this solved my problem"

I thought I had written a bug report, but I can't find it.
Clippings is broken. Doing all the selection stuff seems to work, but download gets me an empty web page (view source shows no printable characters) in Mac/FireFox, Mac/Safari, and Windows/IE6. Going through Verizon from home without a proxy.

At work, but using our public WiFi (with a proxy), same thing.

Using our internal (work) connection, proxy and firewall, with Window/IE6, the browser window is blank but view source shows HTML with no content, a transtional DTD, and charset windows 1252.

This is build 8348. I see 8355 is now available. Tried to get the clipping from PGV, but it's worse. Eight ERROR 8s and then a screen's worth of garbage.

Its linked to Bug #582795: In search, some persons show up in Families but not in Individuals. (see link near top of this page.

As Answers is no longer used for webtrees I am closing this one.

Can you help with this problem?
