reportengine

Asked by omnior

When I mouse over the reports symbol, I don't receive any reports to choose from, while in the demo webtrees site, it works fine. Anyone an idea what could be wrong? In the module adminstration the modules are shown as enabled, but I remarked that when I try to change the access level, it won't change. Strange, but there must be a reason...

What version of webtrees do you have? The Demo site is updated constantly, so has THE very latest.

Did you use 8203 to upgrade an old system, or did you install it into an empty database/directory?

Upgraded to 8203, the last complete database install is maybe 3-4 builds behind. But if it looks like this is the problem, I will try to make a fresh install.

After fresh installation the reportengine works like expected.
But I had some problems during the upload of the saved Gedcom, finally I had to upload it manually.
Now all data from living people are shown as private, although they shouldn't and although I am administrator.

Good - that it what I expected.

<<But I had some problems during the upload of the saved Gedcom,>>

What problems?

<<finally I had to upload it manually.>>

What do you mean by "manually". (FTP copy & import versus upload??)

sorry for the short informations ;-)
the problem was the following:
I first uploaded the zipped gedcom and had no success because the moment when it started to I was told that the header was not correct
Then I tried to upload the (unzipped) gedcom, it looked like it worked, but I realized that the gedcom which already existed was not overwritten by the upload.
IN the next step, I deleted the gedcom by ftp, uploaded by ftp and then imported.
Now the routine went correct and imported the manually uploaded gedcom.
Only problem, I don't know why, but all living people are private now.

...so stupid, after I checked again the gedcom, I probably made my last backup/download with "wrong" privacy, therefore I always imported a gedcom without details for all living persons.
So there remains only the question, why I can't upload a zipped file (I can upload, but the starting import routine doesn't like the header) and why the upload has to be made by ftp and does not work within the menu.

<<why I can't upload a zipped file>>

I have completely re-written the upload/import system - I haven't added the .ZIP option (yet).
