Feature request: other icons and other colours

Asked by Kjetil Rydland

New to Launchpad, don't know if this is correct procedure, but is it possible to implement other weather icons as well? Or at least make it easy to install? Would love to complete my Buuf-look. I also think the possibility to change background colour would be appreciated.

I really like this app, and would have loved to contribute, but I can't code and my language is already translated...

Just to make it clear:

-you want to be able to change the icons of the weather applet with new icons?
-and you want to be able to change the background color for this applet?

If that's what you want to do, I don't think it's possible with the current version of the application. You should maybe contact the developer of this applet, and see if they propose other icons, or if you could submit a new set of icons?

Then that's not possible with this version, for sure. For the second
option, I dont think it will be possible. The background of the applet
is the same as the taskbar. You can only change it by changing the color
of the taskbar. I don't think they will allow to change only the
background of the applet, it would not be coherent with the rest.

About the icons, I think you need to contact the gnome developpers
working on it and ask if it's possible. Maybe they will propose you to
download the code for the applet with the images for the icons, change
the icons, and compile the applet. That could work, but it requires some
knowledge in compilation.

OK, thanks.

This sounds like an nice weekend-project, and maybe I'll learn some code... :)
