Weather Indicator and dock icon mouseover.

Asked by LStranger

Hello there!

Usually every applet which is present in the dock at panel shows some kind of floating message when mouse hovers icon in the dock. In case of weather applets it's short weather summary. See, for example, weather applets in KDE or XFCE. Such way left-click can be used to show details or forecast. It's sad Weather Indicator doesn't support mouseover. I don't know if it does in Unity as I don't use Unity but in other environments it does not. Is it hard to add such functionality?

Ah, I see, so Unity don't have it too (per design if I get it right). So question is if there is a hope to get it working (as configurable option of course).

I guess, then you should dicuss it in the bug or in ayatana-dev mailing list. As soon as indicators will have this API, please file a wishlist bug for Weather Indicator - and it will be implemented
