Will a custom Radar image be implimented in this applet?

Asked by toxy

I am excited to hear about this new applet being created and was curious if it would be possible to set a radar map image to shown in the information pulldown/popup like the current gnome Weather Report applet does?

Also which weather service will this applet be using to retrieve information from? Personally, I like to pull my information from wunderground.com as they are more accurate for my location over the weather channel.

Currently, the Weather Indicator is using the Google Weather API. However, the radar is not on the map for right now, but may come later.

Please, Please, Please....

Add radar support sooner rather than later.

There is nothing better than knowing if it's about to rain and which direction that rain is headed. Let it download about 3 previous [and obviously different] images... and loop them, so that one can see the direction, speed.

PLEASE!!!

I feel like I need to stay at Ubuntu 8.04, because they're dropping the best features of Gnome... the radar image in the weather applet... the volume applet can't be moved to the top-right corner, for mindless controlling of the volume with the wheel mouse.

I might just have to make my own distro, since all these random people are removing the goodness of thinkers and doers WHO HAVE ALREADY DONE!
