Icon frame on the toolbar

Why do icons on the right-side toolbar in 2.2.6 and some other later versions don't have frames, like they did in early versions and authentic wc2?

Framed icons look more nice as for me. How can I make them framed again?

Do you know last stratagus and wargus version where frames were available? If you find it, I can try to add frames around icons back
