Installer extracting MIDI sounds from WAR archives. Also if you have original CD, Installer will rip audio tracks and will use it as default. If you have extracted audio tracks from original CD, convert it to OGG format and copy to folder <path_to_wargus>/music

MIDI files are gzipped and stored in "music/<name>.ogg.gz" (really with ogg.gz ext)
Ripped tracks in OGG format are stored in "music/<name>.ogg" (without compresstion only .ogg)

So if you have music files in Wave format, convert it to OGG and move to correct folder with correct names.

Note: Installer will copy OGG or WAV files (and convert) if they found it in folder <path_to_war2_data>/music

i should drop ogg files to the "music folder" so it would contain <name>.ogg.gz and all the ogg's separately?
I don't have a "music" folder in wargus root, but i have "music" folder in wargus/data - is it that one?

And how do i make it load the proper track in proper situation? (e.g. track that is meant to be played while briefing or in case of victory)

yes, it is correct

this is done automatically by wargus lua scripts.
