Hello Luciferion, in our list of 'to-does' we already have one that will let you add a custom command so as to change the wallpaper.

This will be very useful, and will let Wallch run in many many linux like OSes only by configuring this command.

So, the answer is that yes, Wallch will probably run in Lubuntu, as long as there aren't any other compatibility issues (missing dependencies etc)

Hello there!
I've released a testing PPA (quite stable though) with some new features, which also solves the problems you had.
You can find it here:
https://launchpad.net/~wallch/+archive/3+

Specifically, current latest versions of this ppa are:
32-bit:
https://launchpad.net/~wallch/+archive/3+/+files/wallch_3.52-0ubuntu1_i386.deb
64-bit:
https://launchpad.net/~wallch/+archive/3+/+files/wallch_3.52-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

You can add this ppa, so as to receive updates from it as well, as following:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wallch/3+
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wallch

I repeat that these are testing versions of Wallch that fix some bugs and have some new features, but it is logical to have some bugs. Please, if you find any, report it at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wallpaper-changer/+filebug

Thanks a lot!

Variety - available as a ppa works 'out of the box' with Lubuntu.

Hello Christopher :)

Feel free to use whatever works best for you :)

We are working hard to make Wallch look awesome under Ubuntu, but we will make it work on multiple different DEs, anyway.

We are currently working on porting it to LXDE, XFCE, Windows and more, altogether. Each one of these with its own options for the desktop, different integration, etc.

In the meantime, I am building a library for Live Website in order to do it cross-platform (because now it depends solely on gnome-web-photo), and in order to be able to install it as a plugin, in order to avoid the 5-6 extra libraries it requires, in case you don't need such a feature.

Just be a little patient, Wallch has done a looong way since its first release http://i.imgur.com/AQugMTC.png http://i.imgur.com/tYKDiL5.jpg and is becoming more and more awesome :D

Being cross-platform, cross-DE and bug-free on every DE before 4/2014 is one of our main goals.

Can you help with this problem?
