Cabextract errors. bug here or with winetricks?

Asked by Levi Voorintholt

I think there is a bug with winetricks or the compiled version of cabextract in the ubuntu repository or something. But seeing as I do not know where to file any bug of the previous mention programs I am asking it here.
This is not a priority matter but does inhibit installation of some programs.

I get the folowing error 9 out of 10 times when installing directx 9c:
/home/levi/.winebottles/TestBottle-TBeLXD2B/.wine/dosdevices/c:/winetrickstmp/oct2006_d3dx9_31_x86.cab: WARNING; possible 5960 extra bytes at end of file.

And these when installing the core microsoft fonts:
/home/levi/.winebottles/TestBottle-TBeLXD2B/.cache/winetricks/arial32.exe: library not compiled to support large files.
/home/levi/.winebottles/TestBottle-TBeLXD2B/.cache/winetricks/arialb32.exe: library not compiled to support large files.
/home/levi/.winebottles/TestBottle-TBeLXD2B/.cache/winetricks/comic32.exe: library not compiled to support large files.

The core fonts appear to be installed, but directx does not. The files are there but program's don't see them. And yes the overwrites are in place.

This is not a priority as I don't play any games / use any graphical intensive programs at the moment.

Those are just warnings; they're overly cautious, and you can ignore them safely (as the
fonts are less than 2GB in size).
