Explanation of how it works linking to Flickr

Variety is a great application--I just want to understand how Variety gets wallpapers from a Flickr Group or User or Text. I have done the cutting-and-pasting of the addresses, but have questions because the Group, or User, has tons of photographs on the website, so I should experience tons of different wallpapers. When I do click Preferences line from some Flickr Group, User, or Text that I have added, no wallpapers are displayed at the bottom of the screen (the wallpapers appearing where they would if I clicked History); Does this mean that the Text (and the addresses) search generated no wallpapers?
