Custom quotes - where to put files, in what format?

Asked by jemdem

Hi,

I'd like to make my own file of quotes to be displayed through variety, is already doable? If yes, how?

The local text files option, what are the files, where are they?

Please check the tooltip which appears when you hover the "Local text files" option.
Put files with "txt" extension inside ~/.config/variety/pluginconfig/quotes/.

Each file should follow this format:

quote -- author
.
second quote -- second author
.
etc...

Check the existing file for example: /opt/extras.ubuntu.com/variety/plugins/quotes/quotes.txt (or /usr/share/variety/plugins/quotes/quotes.txt)

Can you help with this problem?
