Using NASA picture of the day (no astronomic)

Asked by ML on 2014-11-26

Hi,

the Nasa offers a picture of the day (not apod!).

*page is http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/index.html#.VHWmO4XnYxB
*rss-feed is http://www.nasa.gov/rss/dyn/image_of_the_day.rss

Variety can't read the stream, is there an other way of using this?

thanks for help!

Variety supports only Media RSS feeds, which provide direct links to the fullsize images, and this is not a Media RSS feed.
Yahoo Pipes can be used to convert such ordinary RSS feeds into Media RSS feeds, here is the pipe I created from the Large image of the Day feed, add it to Variety instead of the original feed:

To view the Pipe's source and details so you can create similar pipes yourself: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=eeac8395a548b37389135359a927bb75

Thanks Peter Levi, that solved my question.
