Quotes - editing local quotes file or using a different one

Asked by Chris

I would like an option to edit the locally stored quotes file, or, alternatively, blacklist some of the more sub-literate or religious quotations.

An absolutely marvellous programme, and one of the first things I install when setting up a new machine.

The local files quotes plugin searches for custom txt files with quotes in ~/.config/variety/pluginconfig/quotes/ and uses the default file only if it does not find any custom files there. Copy the existing file there (/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/variety/share/variety/plugins/quotes/quotes.txt) and edit it to your liking.
