Is there any way to set what size max(in resolution or file size) pictures should be downloaded?

Is there any way to set what size max(in resolution or file size) pictures should be downloaded? its getiing pics of 15+mbs of 5000+ resolution, which is quite big and use my internet recoyurces a lot.

No, Variety tries to download the biggest available image from most sources.
But you can configure some of the sources more carefully to download specific sizes (e.g. Wallbase, Wallpapers.net have filtering by resolution, from Flickr you can use only users who don't publish big images, etc.).
