How to get and install usm ?

Asked by TOXIC

Hello, I must say that I'm very interrested in your project.
I just installed a small home server on a AMD 2000+ (ubuntu dapper server edition)
I'm willing to try your project out, but can't find out how to get it...
Is there some reposotorie here i can get this, or a simple tgz to extract into my www folder ?

Could you please tell me more about how to implement this on my personal server ?

Moreover, if I get it work on my computer, I can easyly become a translator into French for you ! (I'm French, so please excuse my bad english level... )

Thank you !

Etienne MOLINIER.

use this guide, do not use the debs they are very old, new ones will be generated soon hopefully,
also if you get stuck and most likely you will, as the setup script needs a few updates, ask on IRC and be patient we will see the msg eventually.

Hi,

I am very new to Ubuntu.

I am getting the following error:

usrname21@ssd:/$ bzr checkout http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~usmteam/usm/usm
bzr: ERROR: No such file: u'/usm/': [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usm/'

Could someone please explain to me why I am getting this error?

I am running Ubuntu-JEOS 8.0.4 LTS version if this make any difference at all.

I have tried that exact command on standard ubuntu 8.04 and it is checking out fine, is there already a folder called usm locally that exists this is the only thing i can come up with appart from that.
Also it should work with jeos once the dependencies have been met however i have not tried or used jeos yet.

I may try this in the future or provide more info if you can or catch me on irc but for now i am stumped as checkout has always worked for me.

Hi Nico,

basically the way to try it is to checkout from launchpad and try sudo python usm.py which setup the enviroment and starts the server, however it is only me working and testing this system, so it likely very broken at the moment if you want to test and help out though give it a try and report problems to me, or jump on freenode #ubuntusm and see if you can catch me.

Can you help with this problem?
