create a 10.10 live image from lucid

Asked by Morgan GERMAIN

from lucid, we can create an image with ubuntu 10.10 iso but it cannot boot.

I think this problem will be fixed soon in 10.10, but will it be backported to ubuntu 10.04 ?

when will we can create live images from stable ubuntu versions ? after version 0.2.23 ?

I'm not an expert in this field. Could you check if Ubuntu partition in USB key is bootable. Else could you provide more data about boot problem.

Yes it is bootable, but nothing appends after syslinux.

I see an error, the prompt and keyboard does not respond, USB key's activity is idle :

"
SYSLINUX 3.63 Debian-2008-07-15 EBIOS Copyright (C) ...
Unknown keyword in configuration file.
boot :
_

"

This is a known problem.
In the bootable usb created browse to folder called Syslinux and open syslinux.cfg in gedit.
Remove the keyword "ui" from last line.
Now you should be able to boot up.

thank you !!!

bug 608382 made usb-creator aware of that ui keyword, which solved the problem !
The fix has already been released. Thank you
