upstart

Will Gutsy still use the /etc/rc?.d directories

I believe Upstart is being implemented in a manner that allows sysvinit compatibility now, and allows dismantling of the /etc/rc?.d links over time. If so, will the rc?.d directories be present in Gutsy? Any idea of when they will go away? Thanks,

They will probably be present for ever, since we need to support OEM software or that intended for other distributions.

They will be largely empty from gutsy+1 or +2 onwards.
