Ubuntu 18.10 startup "hangs¨

Pc dos not complete startup, but "hangs"with a black screen. After pressing power-off (which is set to power-off) it does a power off. Pressing the power button again it does a perfect startup. Something to do with a sleep state? It does not show anything in Power settings. 18.04 works fine.
