Updater downloads de-selected updates

Asked by Jean Jordaan

I don't use Thunderbird and I'm on a metered mobile connection, so I de-select the 40MB of Thunderbird updates. However the Thunderbird updates are still downloaded.

Suggestion: Only download selected updates.

I'm on 15.04

Maybe similar to bug 939705
There are some dependencies between the packages. If you have thunderbird deselected, but left another thunderbird-related package (e.g. a language package) selected, then this might lead to the case that also the main thunderbird package is downloaded to satisfy the dependencies, but without showing that in the update-manager selection window. The bug report mentioned above (and its duplicate) described such behavior on Ubuntu 12.04. I do not know whether this problem still exists on Ubuntu 15.04

I took care to deselect all Thunderbird-related packages.
