Unity fails to compile on fresh Ubuntu 17.04 installation

Asked by Denis Mekhanikov

Hi!

I just installed Ubuntu 17.04 and try to follow these steps: https://unity.ubuntu.com/getinvolved/development/unity

NUX builds fine, but Unity fails to compile with the following error:
‘void unity::UnityScreen::averageColorChangeNotify(const short unsigned int*)’ marked ‘override’, but does not override.

I figured out that I need a newer version of Compiz, because averageColorChangeNotify function was introduced in this merge: https://code.launchpad.net/~3v1n0/compiz/support-desktop-average-colors and it is not available in my release. But Compiz also fails to compile for some reason.

So, what is the simplest way to build Unity in my situation?
