Dash filters change on input

When I open the dash, I expect it to have saved the state of selected filters for each view (Everything, Applications, Files and so on).
However at multiple times the filter settings change, sometimes even at the moment when I'm typing.

I am not sure whether this is a bug or a feature, that's why I'm posting it here under questions.

Since I deliberatly choose my filters I expect them to be saved and stay that way.

For example I often use the calculator in the dash for minor calculations and it is annoying when it is deactivated every time I have to manually select it again which is annoying.

Is this designed this way, and if so, which conditions make the filters change?
