Turn Off the chameleon effect

Asked by Aby

I want to turn off the unity chameleon effect in ubuntu 12.04. i can see that when i use CCSM and change the color, the chameleon effect is temporarily disabled, but when i change my wallpaper, it comes back again. Is there a way to permanently disable it so that it shows the color i select in CCSM, even if i change the wallpaper??

Hi,

try to install MyUnity package , and turn it of from there. You must adjust the transparency.

MyUnity is in Official repositories and you can install it from Software Center or/and terminal with this command

1) sudo apt-get install myunity

Thanks

NikTh's fix does not work for me, it blackens the launcher and dash with no transparency, when transparency is then set it reverses to the wallpaper colour. There is a bug reported for that.

Can you help with this problem?
