Is it possible to disable auto-hiding the global menu?

Asked by jomstr

Hello,

I have to say I love the Mac OS like global menu but unfortunatelly, unity auto-hides the global menu. I think it should be optional because in high screen resolutions it makes no sense, it just leaves the panel empty... Is there any way to disable the auto-hiding?

By the way, is there any way of making the window controls (close, maximize, minimize) not appearing in the unity pannel?

Thanks in advance :)

The Unity developers are currently working on a solution regarding the global menu. This is an active discussion and much requested feature of many users. You can follow the progress in the bug report linked in this question. In the bug report you can read the description and also the response of the design team. The plan is to introduce some options to customise the behavior of global menus. Regarding your question about "the window controls in the unity panel", that cannot be currently done.

If this answers your question, please mark the question solved.
