Don't you plan to implement smart blur for the Launcher?

Asked by Rostyslav Bryzgunov

Smart blur looks nice when we open Dash or HUD. So why don't you use the same blur for the Launcher bar? Don't you plan to implement this?

Pros:
  - it will look nice (we can see how it looks in Windows 7)
  - from UX point of view: we will not disperse our attention to the background image
  - it will be consistent with Dash and HUD (look'n'feel)

Cons:
  - I don't see any serious cons

BTW: where can/should I post my ideas of Unity improvements?

Maybe you should create a bug concerning this and link it to this question. I believe your remark is a good one, since for example the menu that pops up if you right-click on a launcher icon also has blur (although not active). That means, something that originates from the launcher actually has blur, but the launcher itself doesn't! This is weired hierarchically.

Judging from the bug, this will be implemented.
