howTo change the program icon of starters in the launcher?

how can i change the program icon of a starter in the unity-launcher?

i.e. with AWN i just right-click the icon, choose properties and change the icon.

You will need to edit the relevant .desktop file.

You can create a new shortcut to an app (right-click desktop and select “Create a launcher...”. Customize it with an icon, save it and drag’n’drop it on the Unity dock.
