How do you sort items in the Unity file browser?

Asked by Sean Fitzpatrick

I'm trying out the new Unity netbook interface in Ubuntu Maverick Beta. There are some problems (the Applications icon and the screen you get when clicking on the Ubuntu logo top-left don't work; I think this is due to Bug #629692, so I'm hopeful I'll see the fix soon) but I can do basic tasks - I'm able to get both Firefox and Thunderbird to open.
The file browser I get when I click on the Files & Folders icon seems to work, in that a file browser appears, and I'm able to go through my files and folders as expected. However, in larger folders, I notice that the items are not alphabetized, and I can't find any way of getting a sort dialog.
Actually, I notice that right-clicking has no effect anywhere in this folder browser. I would expect that a right click on empty space would let me choose from sort options, and that right-clicking on a file or folder would let me choose options like copy, cut, delete, etc. Is this intentional, or is it a bug? I haven't found anything in the bug reports. If this is the intended behaviour, is there any way to change things so that Nautilus launches instead?

Question answered in Bug #632803 - the features just haven't been implemented yet.
