Feature Request: Window Placement Mode

Could you add the ability to alter the Window Placement Mode eg Smart, Centered etc, as in the CCSM Place Window setting?

Well, Compiz supports that (as you said - it's in CCSM), so yeah, we will consider adding that. =)
You didn't install any additional compiz packages for this to appear in CCSM, right?

Right, tomorrow I shall do some research on that and we'll decide if we will implement it or not.
