outlook.office365.com and frequency

Asked by chrism

Hi,

on adding outlook.office365.com and selecting the INBOX folder, it is not notifying of new email. I wanted to ask about this before submitting a bug report.

secondly, I can't find config for setting the frequency of checks. Again, wanting to ask before submitting a feature request

thanks for the effort and time you put into this. we appreciate it :D

Chris

Unity Mail works with IMAP IDLE, i.e. whenever there is a change in the mail folder you are monitoring, you are instantly notified. There is no check interval.

As for not getting notifications, please open a terminal and do the following:

killall unity-mail
unity-mail

Keep an eye on any strange output. In case of errors, file a new bug report including the contents of the terminal.

thanks. error presented was:

  56:23.88 outlook.office365.com reader last 20 log messages:
Unity Mail: ERROR: Error in connection "<email address hidden>:INBOX": command: UID => socket error: <class 'OSError'> - Too many read 0

I had a very large inbox subfolder. moving that out fixed the issue
