Unfortunately I'm not familiar at all with Outlook, so I don't understand what you mean by working with it.
Unity Mail works with any IMAP 4 server (though I've only tested it with servers that support SSL).
You can set a custom host and port in the configuration dialog ("Change accounts details" item in the quicklist).
I mean the new MS Outlook service (before Hotmail, service is at outlook.com). I tried to find port and host name from the web site, but I didn't.

Did you try instructions at http://
I've entered the following details:
Server: imap.outlook.com
Gate/port: 993
User name: <email address hidden>
Password: xxxxxxxxxx
If i click the Unity Mail icon in the lauucher, it redirects me to the Gmail sign-in site. And I don't get any email notifications?

You can set the correct URLs in "URLs" tab of the configuration dialog.

You will probably get some useful explanation for that if you run "unity-mail" from the terminal. I agree that we need some GUI messages for connection failures — please feel free to file a bug for that.
Can you help with this problem?
