ubuntu-desktop label in top panel

when there are no active windows, it displays "ubuntu desktop" in the top panel, is it possible to change this text or is it in compiled code?

i was able to find the image files for the launcher but not this.

any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Hi Samuel,

It is sort of hardcoded in panel/applets/appname/appnameapplet.cpp source code. The string however is a subject for translation, so you could try to provide a translation for it - take a look at the po/ directory and the top of po/CMakeLists.txt in the source package of unity2d.

thanks, this answered my question, i actually discovered this http://askubuntu.com/questions/140742/how-do-i-change-the-desktop-name-on-the-unity-panel sometime after posting the question, i guess i just wasnt asking the right question before.
