Also I forgot to mention the install has to be from the USB port as the CD Rom does not work.

Check out:

DSL

Tiny Linux

These distros will scream on a 700mhz laptop!

My laptop BIOS does not support booting to the USB port. Is there a work around for loading DSL? That one sounds pretty good to me.

If you can boot up into any OS at all, I believe you can download UNetbootin direct to the HD and install it that way. I have not tried this, so i do not know.

If not, you can always buy a USB to Hard Drive adapter (very cheap), pull the laptop drive out, install the image, put it back in the laptop and boot back up on it that way.

Can you help with this problem?
