Is fat 32 the only file system I can use with a USB drive?

I'd like to format my stick with a linux filesystem ext2, ext3, ext4, maybe reiser or ideally btrfs. Will it still boot?
I read that Unetbootin works with fat32. Is that the only filesystem it can use.
If not consider this a request for features.

Depends on the OS you're putting on the USB drive. ext2 and ext3 might work for some (they do for Ubuntu), but ext4, reiser, and btrfs will definitely not work.
Can you help with this problem?
