Unetbootin wont appear on grub menu

Asked by keef

I have a broken CD Drive and cant boot from USB.

I can only use windows but want to use linux. I use Unetbootin and install an iso image of arch linux to C:/

But nothing appears on the grub menu, just my corrupted old linux and windows.

Do I have to remove Grub to get it to work? How do I do this and make sure windows still works?

UNetbootin shouldn't have installed GRUB to your MBR; it should have added itself to your Windows boot menu. Is the GRUB menu you're talking about from a previous Linux install? At any rate, have you tried selecting Windows, and seeing if the UNetbootin option is in there?

Yes the Grub menu is from a previous install and yes I tried selecting windows but it just boots up XP as normal

I had to edit boot.ini to put a delay 'timeout=15' after boot loader

How do you get the Unetbootin on the grub of your Lubuntu 14.04 ? I want to install normal Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty .
